The Wittersham 5 Mile race bursts onto the 2025 racing calendar. This evening race is (almost) traffic free and boasts a course that delights at every twist & turn.
This is a Partner race.
This means that we are working with a host Partner Organisation and provide timing and/or race management services for their event.
Event Overview:
Previously known as the Tenterden 5, this superb and popular race offering is enjoying a new lease of life as the Wittersham 5. The race enjoys some wonderful local support, with cheery marshals and some fab running folk. The course wends through some of the prettiest landscapes in Kent and there is a bar and BBQ offering at the finish line. Runners of all standards are welcome. Who can resist?
Course Details:
This is a fast-ish, almost traffic free and takes runners along the quiet lanes around the pretty Kent village of Wittersham, near Tenterden. There are a couple of inclines but nothing to worry even the most hill-adverse amongst you! It is an accurately measured course and carries a certificate of accuracy.
Junior Run:
We love celebrating our junior racers and encouraging them to the start line where we cheer each and every one of them.
We hope that their experience of a dedicated race, just for them, will help to inspire a life-long love of this wonderful and enriching sport and help to spark a passion for an activity that will bring them great joy, health benefits and escapism for many years to come.
The junior consists of a nippy run around the sports field.
Numbers can be collected from Race HQ and entries will be available on the day.
The run will not be chip timed but all junior runners will receive a finishers medal.
Parents are responsible for collecting their children at the finish line.
If parents are accompanying their children on this race (and this is something that we encourage!) then no additional entry is required. However, participating parents will not receive a junior medal... these are reserved exclusively for our junior runners!
We hope that you will join us in supporting our young runners with uproarious cheers!

Our 2025 charities
The Wittersham Sports Club: A hub of the community, this club supports sports and activities in the village across for every generation and is run entirely by volunteers. Without valuable funds raised through charitable events such as the Wittersham 5, they are unable to continue funding important village outreach projects.
Team Ben Hammond: This amazing organisation based near Tenterden in Kent raising funds and awareness for local heart screening events for young people between the ages of 14 & 35yrs. In July 2016 15 year old Ben Hammond died from an undiagnosed heart condition. on average 12 young people a week die from undiagnosed heart conditions. Many of these conditions can often be picked up by heart screening, but this service is not offered on the NHS. Working closely with the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) we have set up a memorial account where all funds raised go towards funding screening days which are carried out by CRY. A screening day costs £5000 and 100 young people can be screened in this time.
