This is a Partner race
This means that we are working with a host Partner Organisation and provide timing and/or race management services for their event.
Event Overview:
Following another successful year in 2023, the Oliver Curd Trust 5 mile returns. This time from caravan to recreation ground to help raise much needed funds for the Oliver Curd Trust. Taking place on a point to point course from Crowhurst Park to Bulverhthye Recreation Ground, this nearly all downhill route will take you through some beautiful Sussex countryside. But that’s not all, sandwiches, water, cake and beer at the finish and Sarah and Richard Curd will be there!
Course Details:
The route starts in Crowhurst and finishes at Bulverhthye Recreation Ground. You will be running on hard track and path, joining the 1066 walk and passing by lakes and through pretty woodland. Please note, this is a point to point route and you will need to either arrange your own transport or car share.
Running in aid of...
The Oliver Curd Trust provides holiday accommodation to families affected by childhood cancer and other life threatening and life-limited conditions, including those experiencing bereavement. The charity seeks to provide memories, happiness and periods of escape for children and their families during difficult times.
The Oliver Curd Trust was started in 2008 by Oliver's parents, Richard and Sarah, in memory of him. Oliver was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma in April 2006 and sadly died in November 2007.
What's different about this race?:
This race is organised and hosted entirely by volunteers. For that reason, you'll notice that there are far fewer marshals on the course (a full course description is provided in the days leading up to race day) and that there are fewer of the usual features that you would expect to see from a race. The race is not licensed by UKA and is not chip timed. It is a race that is purely for the love of running, where we enjoy a super race-day buzz and all the funds go towards this fantastic charity.
