Thanks - this was a great event, well organised with a good atmosphere and worthy attempts to make such events more environmentally friendly.
The pre information was clear. One comment on this (which applies to most events I do) is that when information is sent out again, in the email it might state that any new information included is highlighted, then when looking at the information it is clear that apart from what is highlighted the information is as per what was previously circulated. The would save looking through lots of information to find that in the main it has been read before.
Great location, friendly event and lots of hills.
As it was a Greener Earth event, I wasn't sure why the wooden medals were in a paper envelope. The bag was not needed.
Challenging but beautiful
A stunning location with lots of hills. Despite the hills, a delight to be out there. This will get even better as time moves on. A soon to become jewel in the crown and a must for anyone looking for a training run for a challenging ultra or marathon.
Excellent race. Nice challenge. Definitely would run again.
Recommend highly
Loved this course - beautiful scenery with panoramic views at the very top at heathland meadow flat path. Fantastic downhills and lots of the ‘tasty’ uphills!! Very tranquil as no public roads with traffic to negotiate. Super friendly atmosphere and easy parking.
We ran it in dry hot conditions - I’d like to run it in wet and slippery conditions as it would be a completely different event.
Fabulous supportive, enthusiastic marshalling - thank you lovely Marshalls, you were wonderful! and clear route markings. Minor point was the final Marshall spot where the race splits left for 10 mile second loop and right for 5 mile finish. I was soooo relieved to see a downhill that I went to left instead of right for the 5 mile finish. I felt the marshall could have preempted this by being more directional. However, he might have had an off moment as it was hot hot hot for the marshalls and, I was not on the ball enough to remember what the race director had said at the race briefing about the course split. Maybe a big sign next year saying 10m left and 5m right split?
Recommend highly. Thank you very much for a great morning
Beautiful route and everyone was very friendly!
Stunning scenery, friendly Marshalls
Such a beautiful setting. Also, huge advantage over other beautiful runs I have done as a private park so unlike eg Surrey Hills runs there are no pedestrians/dogs etc. Very friendly race
Loved it
Better pens, couldn’t write on the back of the paper. Fab pre race details. I did miss the 5 mile turn off, I think I was the only one who did
Beautiful hilly route
Well organised with green approach. Loved paper cups at water station and medals made of wood. Great atmosphere.
The hills are alive...
Everything was well thought through with the aim in mind of making the run a green event. Well done
Thank you for organising the event. Only comment would be better biros to fill in the contact info on the bibs.
Challenging with an element of fun :)
More of a road runner. But do love a trail race. Enjoyed:)
Brilliant event if you like a challenge
Minor note, could have done with another water stop at the 5 mile point for the 10 mile runners. Other than that, amazing event, very well put together!
Well run green race!
A beautiful location and a challenging course
This was a fantastic location with stunning views from the start of course. The race itself was one or two challenging laps, mainly on hard-packed trails and forest roads. We all knew it might be a tough one when the run director described the first hill as a "tasty climb". And there were a few more hills after that. Many thanks to the event team and the course marshals who were all very friendly encouraging.
Really fun race with amazing views and great friendly atmosphere
Undulating, challenging, beautiful course and scenery
Congratulations, I wish you every success with this in the future. If it helps, and I know the calendar gets crowded, but I wondered if races at Robertsbridge, Heathfield (and Eastbourne) may have impacted on numbers signed up? More constructively, why not email the club secretaries of all the surrounding running clubs a week before the event advertising that loads of late entries are available?
Amazing place to run!!!
