It will soon be time for stockings, roasted chestnuts and fairy lights...
But first, it's the Nice Work Richmond Christmas 10k & 5k! One, Two Three...
Get ready to race, Santa-style!
This is a Nice Work race
This means that this is an original Nice Work race, fully hosted and organised by us.
Event Overview:
The races take place within the picturesque setting of one of London's prettiest Royal Parks, the perfect setting for a pacy, traffic-free Sunday morning 10k (or 5k!). The undulating course covers the tracks, trails and footpaths within the park and is suitable for runners of all abilities, with beginners particularly welcome. You will pass around various beautiful sections of the park, including through Sheen Wood and past the Teck Plantation. You will also race passed Bishops Pond and Richmond Gate. You may even be lucky enough to spot one of the many roaming herds of Red or Fallow Deer that have been known to watch the race with very great interest and amusement. Remember to dress to impress Santa with a special prize available for the best dressed runner!
Course Details:
The Richmond 10k course is a two lap route covering the paths and trails within the boundaries of Richmond Park with 5k runners completing just one lap.
The route is an undulating course with no significantly testing hills and covers a selection of hard track, tarmac with a small section on grass so it's perfect for a speedy finish and a festive PB! The course has been measured using a GPS but, because of its multi terrain nature, cannot carry an official course measurement certificate.
Our charity... Shelter:
This year, Nice Work is proud to support Shelter.
Shelter believe that home is human right. It's our foundation and it's where we thrive. Yet every day millions of people are being devastated by the housing emergency. Shelter exist to defend their right to a safe home. Because home is everything. Day in, day out, we see people living and sometimes tragically dying on our streets. At the moment, around 3898 people sleep rough on any given night in England. This has risen by 27% in the last year and has doubled since 2010. 2024 has seen the highest numbers on record of children living in unfit temporary accommodation. All they want is a safe place to call home this Christmas. With your help, we can make this happen.
