One of the most breathtaking and beautiful racing challenges you will ever delight in; allow us to present the Ashbourne Half Marathon, courtesty of the Ashbourne Running Club.
This is a Partner race
This means that we are working with a host Partner Organisation and provide timing and/or race management services for their event.
Event Overview:
The Ashbourne Half Marathon is a spellbinding race experience. It's a hilly course exploring the fabulous Derbyshire Dales before returning to the historic market town of Ashbourne, a place much beloved of Jane Austen. It's a challenging event, but the views are breathtaking and the racing is superlative; you won't want to miss it and we can't wait to welcome you to the start line!
Please note, this race is permitted by ARC (Association of Running Clubs) and not England Athletics. As such, the results will not be included in RunBritain rankings or in the Power Of 10.
This is a cupless event.
Water will be provided but runners will need to bring their own camel packs/reusable cups or water bottles/receptacles.

Course Details:
The route starts on the Market Place in Ashbourne. It completes a loop around Belle Vue Road and back into town before meandering up to Market Place again and on into Mappleton. The course continues through Mappleton, up to Spend Lane and along to Thorpe, Ilam and Blore. From there, runners can enjoy a quick there and back through Okeover park before heading in a loop towards Mappleton. At the Bike Hire car park, runners will enjoy a dash back into Ashbourne through the tunnel. They will re-enter town via Church Lane and race the short finish along the Recreation Ground.
It is a beautiful race with often challenging sections. But, you won't mind these one little bit because it's all worth it on the finish line, where you are welcomed by local supporters and friends. Runners of all abilities are incredibly welcome but please note that there is a time limit on the course of 3 hours.
