This is a firm favourite in the racing calendar and it's not hard to see why! A fast, flat and scenic coastal race to delight the senses; it's your race, it's your Folkestone Coastal!
This is a Partner race
This means that we are working with a host Partner Organisation and provide timing and/or race management services for their event.
Event Overview:
This event is an exhilarating, fast and flat race along the seafront. In recent years, we have included an elite wave to the race so that runners of all abilities can enjoy the wonderful race-day buzz of Folkestone Coastal. The elite wave will return in 2025 and qualification times remain at 36 minutes for men and 40 minutes for ladies.
The chance of a fast time is just one of the reasons this race has always been popular. Another reason is its suitability for runners of all standards – from experienced athletes to those with limited race experience and first time runners. We even have a popular and dedicated junior race! Everyone is welcome to the start line for an unforgettable race beside the sea. You won't want to miss this one!
Please note, UKA rules state that runners must be aged 15 years or older.
Junior Run:
Our increasingly popular gives all our aspiring junior racers a chance to take part in their very own, dedicated event and is open to all young runners aged 14 or below. It will take place before the main race, and includes a fast out and back sprint of approximately 600m - 800m along the promenade. The race will not be chip timed but all our junior finishers will receive a medal and can look forward to being cheered across the finish line by the gathering supporters!
Parents are responsible for collecting their children at the finish line. If parents are accompanying their children on this race then no additional entry is required. However, participating parents will not receive a chip time or medal. We hope that you will join us in supporting our young runners with uproarious cheers!
Please note, UKA rules state that participants of the junior race (unless running as an accompanying adult!) must be aged 14 years or younger.
Course Overview:
The 10 kilometre run will start from Folkestone seafront, head towards Hythe and then return, whilst taking in the beautiful coastal scenery that the area has to offer. This is a flat promenade route, traffic free and a great race; you'll enjoy every moment.
