The start & finish
This race starts and finishes at the Peacehaven Leisure Centre.
About the course
The 10 mile course is undulating, with a testing hill at around six miles. Approximately six miles of the race takes you off road and onto farm tracks and bridleways. The remaining four miles are on reasonably quiet roads.
The course is generally on hard standing with only a few 'soft' spots. That said, if the weather has been inclement then it could be fairly muddy in some sections. Please be careful of uneven trails underfoot. There may be some protruding tree roots in places which may cause a trip hazard. As always, we would urge you to race with care and awareness of your own safety and that of others.
Other route users
The route will not be closed to other road users and trail visitors. Please be aware that there may be traffic on the roads and that there may potentially be other runners, bikers, walkers and dog walkers crossing the route. Please race with care, remaining aware of your surroundings and others.
Recommended Kit & Footwear
Your favourite running shoes should be fine for this race. Please keep an eye on the forecast and dress appropriately for the conditions, bringing a spare set of clothes (and socks!) if needed.
Litter
Please do NOT drop litter. Bins will be provided, so please dispose of any litter correctly or take it home with you.
Water Stations
There will be a water station at the finish line together with a water station at approximately the five-mile point. Whilst we will ensure that our water stations are well supplied, runners should ensure that they are fully hydrated and we recommend that you carry your own water.
Going Green
To help reduce the carbon footprint of this race, we would like to encourage all our runners to bring their own camel packs or reusable cups for this race. Our teams at the water stations will be happy to fill any receptacle that you might bring with you so that you stay hydrated and racing fit! If you are able to car share, then this would be wonderful!
Your route & marshals...
Your course will be clearly marked using large route arrows and directional cones, as well as being marshalled throughout. Please listen and obey all marshal instructions given. There will be a sweep marshal which will follow the last runner to make sure that no one is left on the route. All marshals will remain in place until stood down by the sweep marshal.
Spectators
We always welcome anyone that would like to cheer on our runners and join the good spirit of the race by lending their encouragement and support.
Medals & Prizes
Bespoke anniversary medal, mince pie and goody pack for all finishers.
Spot prizes.
Trophies for top three males & females.
Christmas Puds for the 4th & 5th males & females.
Team award for most turned out.
Weather permitting, the presentation will take place approximately 45 - 60 minutes after the first runner has crossed the finish line and when all the prize winners have arrived home.
Please listen for announcements from your Race Director.
