NB The race start and Race HQ is on the promenade about just east of the Sailing Club. Access is via the roadway from the cliff top at the end of Beacon Hill or via the Promenade near the Sailing Club.

The Les Golding Memorial 10K was organised as a memorial to a stalwart of Kent athletics. Les received an MBE in recognition of his services to young athletes. The race was a popular part of the Kent road race calendar and featured as a County Championship race. However, the race had not taken place since 2006 until 2012. The 2013 race will feature an amended course which will allow better and closer access to toilet and refreshment facilities.

The event features chip timing by IEK Chip Timing.

The course is a sea front course and fast times can be recorded and is suitable for both experienced and first-time runners.

Medals are on offer for all finishers and there are prizes for the leading runners.

A 1500m Children's Race will precede the event at 9.45 am and you can enter this race online here, by post or on the day.
